Outlaw-ification

This section of the site describes Phase 2 of my project which was completed on 5th June 2005

Phase 2 involved replacing my original 1641cc Type I with a RAT 2270cc Type IV, restyling the car in a more Outlaw direction, and upgrading the chassis to cope with this extra power.

  • gearbox cradle
  • rear disc brakes
  • bas header and custom silencer
  • instrumentation (dual egt, dual cht, oil T&P, air/fuel)
  • electric fuel pump
  • 1.8L breather box

I also took the car styling in a more outlaw direction:

  • Through bonnet filler cap
  • Removed bonnet handle
  • Added leather bonnet straps

and made other enhancements:

  • sound deadening
  • rust proofing (subframe)
  • Interior Lighting / phone charger socket
  • Webasto petrol heater
  • new instrument/air vent/stereo panel
  • heated seats
  • square weave carpes/cocomats
  • rearward hood cover
